Position: Assistant Lecturer in Hebrew (Part-Time, Non-Tenure Track)
Overview
The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Skidmore College invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track Assistant Lecturer position in Hebrew starting in Spring 2026. This is a one-semester appointment with the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities
- Teach one section of Hebrew 101
- Contribute to departmental initiatives and activities
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Hebrew linguistics, language pedagogy, second-language acquisition, or a related field
- Proven excellence in college-level teaching
- Native or near-native proficiency in Hebrew
- Excellent command of English
Compensation & Union Information
Salary: $2,507 per credit (courses are three or four credits).
All bargaining unit members are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Skidmore College and SEIU, Local 200 United.
⚠️ This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of Form I-9 and verification of identity and work authorization in accordance with federal law.
