Inside Higher Ed Is Hiring An Assistant Lecturer

The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Skidmore College is hiring a part-time Hebrew instructor starting Spring 2026, offering an opportunity to teach and contribute to a vibrant academic community.

Position: Part-Time Assistant Lecturer in Hebrew ✨

Start Date: Spring 2026

Duration: One semester with possibility of renewal

Responsibilities 📝

  • Teach one section of Hebrew 101
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives and activities

Qualifications ✅

  • Master’s degree in Hebrew linguistics, language pedagogy, second-language acquisition, or a related field
  • Proven excellence in college-level teaching
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Hebrew
  • Excellent command of English

Compensation 💰

Salary: $2,507 per credit (courses are three or four credits)

Note: All bargaining unit members are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Skidmore College and the Services Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 200 United.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of Form I-9 and verification of identity and work authorization as required by law.
